Duane Peters
"The Master of Disaster" Duane Peters is - hands down - one of the most interesting artists putting out original music today. A world-famous skateboarder who cut his teeth on the early punk scene with vinyl appearances from the early 80's onwards, by the early 2000's he had gravitated onto simultaneously fronting three outfits (the U.S. Bombs, Die Hunns, & The Duane Peters Gunfight) each of which - remarkably - is easily among the best bands spawned by punk. Yet this is a body of work that transcends musical confines, and comfortably takes it's place in the larger canon alongside such greats as Shane MacGowan, the MC5, The Clash, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Lou Reed, & ''Let It Bleed"-era Rolling Stones. Duane has founded his new record label Indian Recordings as a sub-label of Ponk, & his latest recordings - the "Checkmate" album by The Duane Peters Gunfight - may be found there. As things progress we expect to consolidate Duane's band projects on Indian, while solo material & collaborations will be destined for release on Ponk.
